There’s no need for a large marketing budget when you’re advertising your business. Not everyone has access to a large budget for such things, especially if you’re a small business that’s just starting out. No matter your budget, though, marketing is key if you want to draw in business. That doesn’t mean you have to spend every last dollar on advertising—there are plenty of ways to market your business without breaking the bank. Here are a few of those strategies.
Create and Post Videos
You don’t need a Hollywood studio to create marketing videos. In fact, video creation can be relatively cheap and done by yourself. You could use your smartphone to record your videos or invest in a decent camera and microphone to use for all of your videos. Making these videos are great for marketing because your business will benefit from higher conversion and click-through rates. Roughly half of consumers look for videos demonstrating products or services before they buy something, so creating videos demonstrating yours will potentially draw customers into your business.
Video making and distributing is also an extremely easy marketing tool; these videos can be posted across all of your marketing channels. If you decide to make videos, creating a YouTube account is a must.
Make Infographics
Infographics are easy and free to make, and can be very effective if you design them well. They also capture the eye much more than written words will—while 16% of people will read content word-for-word, 79% of people will scan pages they come across. Visuals are much easier to comprehend while scanning, so posting infographics to your marketing channels will automatically draw a person’s attention.
Not only will consumers be drawn to your infographics, but other sites will use them to improve their own content as well. When this happens, whoever uses your infographic will typically link back to your site to give you credit. This will drive traffic to your website and improve your search engine optimization.
Publish High-Quality Content
Though an obvious tactic, some people forget that their marketing content should be high-quality to draw attention. Publishing content is a great marketing tool because it’s free and you can do it yourself, whether you’re a good writer or not. Blog topics can be easy to come up with and write out, but beware: don’t tackle topics that will overwhelm you or go over your head. When creating content, you should stick to what you know, such as your industry topics.
Blogs can be written even by someone with the busiest of schedules, but if you’re particularly busy you can hire someone to write high-quality content for you. You could also assign this task to someone in-house who is decent at writing.
